ATTENTION! WHAT EVER THE ENROLMENT OPTION YOU CHOOSE:

To be valid, your enrolment form must be totaly filled in with full payment and a recent medical certificate (less than a year old from the day of the race) stipulating that you can participate in a running competition or an athletics competition or a copy of your FFA (French Federation d'Athletism) or FF Triathalon (French Federation of Triathalon) license which must be valid on the date of the race.

 

 

REGISTRATION AND BRIEFING

 

Saturday 25 September 2010 in Chamonix

    -  14.00h - 18.00h : Pickup of race numbers after presentation of a piece of identiication and a check of obligatory equipment

    -  18.30h : Briefing for runners

    -  19.00h : Pasta Party (10€ if not purchased at time of enrolment)

 

Your race number must be worn on the chest or stomach area and must be permantly and completly visible during the entire race. Therefore it should always be worn outside of all clothing and in no case should be attached to a rucksack or on a leg. The logos of the supporting partners cannot be hidden or modified.

 

If you decide to abandon the race, the runner must notify the manager of the nearest refreshment or control post and turn in your race number.

- Respect the ethics of the race

    Respect for nature. The race crosse three nature reserves - the Passy Nature Reserve, the Carlaveryon Nature Reserve and the Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve

    Respect the flora and fauna

    Do not throw any rubbish on the trail - 'pack it out'. Additionally, you will find no plastic cups at the refreshment stands. You must use your personal drinking cup (see below under 'obligatory equipment')

    We strongly recommend you use the free public services of the train and bus at your disposition between Les Houches and Chamonix Mont Blanc.

    Respect for others

    Respect the volunteers, other racers and the local population. Each racer should volunteer to come to the aid of any participant who finds themselves in a difficult situation.

    Respect for yourself. No cheating either before or during the race.

    No monetary awards

 

- Race open to all persons born in or after 1990

- Course : 51km with 3900 m of positive height gain, traversing three nature reserves

- Obligatory equipment (obligatory check before the departure and on the course) :

    Personal cup

    Minimum 1 liter reserve of water

    Mobile phone

    Headlamp in working order

    Survival blanket

    Whistle

    Adhesive elastic strapping (80cm x 3cm min)

    Food reserves

    Waterproof jacket designed for use in bad mountain weather

    Trousers or long leggings

    Strongly recommended : mobile phone, gloves, warm clothing, extra clothing, bandana or warm hat

    Poles are authorized

- Refreshments : the race is held in semi-autonomy with two full refreshments and two liquids only refreshments

- First aid stations are situated on many points of the course and are in liason via radio with the race officials.A medical team is onhand.

- Maximum time to complete the course is 13 hours. The cut off times around the various points of the course are found at www.aiguillerouges.fr

- In case of bad weather or for other reasons of safety, the organisation reserves the right to stop the race and/or to modify the course and/or the cut off times prior to or during the race

- Insurance : The organisation has retained civil liability insurance for the duration of the race. Each participant must be in possession of insurance covering them as an individual for accidents and for any fees relating to search and rescue and evacuation in France.

- All individual assistance outside of the authorized areas is forbidden, including having accompaniment of non registered runners (pacers) during the race.

- Animals are forbidden (including dogs on leashes) as the race crosses several nature reserves

 

 

RECOVERY BAG DEPOSIT

 

Each runner receives at registration a single 40L bag. After placing your recovery items in this bag and closing it securely please bring this to the race start line and leave it in the designated drop off area. This bag will be brought to the finish line in Vallorcine for you.

 

RACE CATAGORIES AND PRIZES

 

No monetary prizes.

Finishers will be classed in an overall 'scratch' catagory for men and women and in a separate category for each sex and age group. The top 3 finishers in the 'classement generale' overall category and in each male and female age group will be presented with a trophy and a gift. Supplementary gifts will be given out by drawing to other lucky runners at the prize presentation ceremony after the race.

 

SUPPORTERS OF THE RACE

 

Please consider using public transport to reach the race start or finish line. Buses and trains are free with presentation of your 'Carte d'hôte' which should be given to you by your rental accommodation.

TO EAT AT THE PASTA PARTY OR CLOSING BUFFET

 

Please use your enrolment form to indicate the number of meals you would like. This helps the organisation plan the necessary food. Alternatively, you can purchase tickets for meals when you pick up your race numbers at the registration. These meal tickets will be sold under reservation of available spaces.

 Numerous parking lots and garages are available in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. All of these are shown marked with a light blue 'P' on the map on the Chamonix Office of Tourism website here.

 

CANCELLATION OF ENROLMENT

 

All cancellations must be done in writing. 

 

If the runner has not taken out cancellation insurance at time of enrolment or would like to cancel for a reason not covered under this insurance, reimbursement of fees charged at time of enrolment will be refunded as follows :

 

- Between July 1 - August 31 2010 : 40% of inscription fees

- After September 1 2010 no reimbursments are made

 

Transfer of race number to another person is NOT allowed

 

LEGALITIES

 

By enrolling, each runner expressedly renounces his rights to photographic images and films taken of him during the race, just as he also gives rights to the race organisers and sponsors to the use of his image taken during the race.

 

In accordance with the 'loi informatique et liberté du 6 janvier 1978' (French law on information and freedom of 6 january 1978) each participant  has the right to access and correct stored personal information which concerns him.
